Prohibited Strategies

This knowledge base article explains prohibited trading strategies and behaviors across Paid To Trade account types, including Trail Evaluation, Trail Performance, Static Evaluation, and Static Performance.

Use this guide to understand what is not allowed, why it is prohibited, and what may trigger an account review that can affect payouts or account status.


Trail Evaluation

There are no prohibited strategy restrictions on Trail Evaluation. You can trade your style freely. You can even use HFT.


Trail Performance

Trail Performance has prohibited strategies and behaviors designed to protect execution integrity and prevent hidden risk.

Prohibited Strategies on Trail Performance

  • Arbitrage (includes HFT - High Frequency Trading)

  • Grid trading

  • Martingale

  • Pyramid scaling

  • Asymmetric scalping

  • All in trades

  • Tick scalping

  • Behavioral violations
    • Gambling style bets
    • One direction coin flip patterns
    • Trading driven by emotion rather than a stated plan

  • Overtrading and account health abuse

  • Group trading

  • Mirrored Signals

Allowed Strategies on Trail Performance

  • News trading and weekend holding

  • Copy trading across your own Paid To Trade accounts is allowed

  • EAs are allowed
    Note: commercially shared EAs or tools may be reviewed if they create prohibited patterns or copy trades from other traders


Static Evaluation

Prohibited Strategies on Static Evaluation

  • Arbitrage (includes HFT - High Frequency Trading)

  • Grid trading

  • Martingale

  • Pyramid scaling

  • Asymmetric scalping

  • All in trades or concentrated risk per idea

  • Tick scalping



Static Performance

Static Performance Accounts include Static Lite Performance, Static Pro Performance, Instant Funded Accounts, and Market Masters Accounts.

Prohibited Strategies

  • Hedging

  • Arbitrage (includes HFT - High Frequency Trading)

  • News trading restriction
    Opening a trade is prohibited from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after major news events.

What happens if I took a trade during high impact news?

If a trade is opened or closed during this window, any profit from that trade will not count.

This is not a hard breach. The account is not terminated.

Losses are counted.

Allowed Strategies on Static Performance

  • Grid

  • Martingale

  • Scaling into positions

Every other strategies not mentioned as prohibited on Static Performance Accounts are allowed.
